Navigating the cancer realm is complicated and Globally, over 1? billion people struggle with their cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a loved one. They do not fully understand the diagnosis, treatment and next steps. This results in considerable suffering. Even with a treatment team of multiple specialists, the patients do not understand basics such as tumor stage, treatment options and have no grasp of the big picture. There are several causes such as: limited time with each team member/physician, lack of plain english during visits, poor bedside MD manner, overwhelming amounts of complicated information that require delayed processing and intense emotions. CD will fill this gap and help patients understand their unique situation and guide them through the diagnosis and treatment phases of care.
